Strategic recruitments to advance research and collaboration

The Knowledge Foundation awards over SEK 11 million to six new projects within the Capacity Building programme. Through recruitments of key expertise, the projects aim to strengthen research and education at Swedish universities – while at the same time contributing to Sweden’s long-term competitiveness.

The Capacity Building programme is designed to give Swedish universities improved opportunities to strategically attract key expertise, either through international visiting researchers or through adjunct appointments bridging academia and industry. At the same time, the programme promotes researcher mobility and international collaboration.

" Researcher mobility between universities, countries and sectors strengthens the quality of research and education through new perspectives and collaborations. It also enables knowledge to be translated more quickly into industry impact.
Petter Zirath
Programme manager at the Knowledge Foundation
The funded projects span areas such as sustainable tourism, textiles, industrial transformation, timber construction, AI and additive manufacturing. What they all have in common is a strong link between academia and industry to develop knowledge, skills and new solutions.
