Organisation

The Knowledge Foundation, based in Stockholm, has a staff of 12. The secretariat is headed by CEO Eva Schelin and is structured into two units. The management team comprises the CEO and the heads of the respective units.

Board

The Knowledge Foundation’s board is the highest decision-making body and consists of ten members including the chairman. The board has a capital committee to assist in the management of the capital at the foundation’s disposal. The capital committee consists of three of the board’s members and three external experts.

The board’s term of office runs from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2028. Two members are appointed by the government, while the remaining eight are appointed by the board itself. Nominations for board members are submitted by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, the Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions (SUHF), and the Directors General of the Swedish Research Council, Forte, Formas, and Vinnova. One member is nominated by the board.
