Jubilee Doctoral Students

The Knowledge Foundation’s Jubilee Doctoral Students is a major investment in the next generation of collaborative researchers. Between 2025 and 2030, we are funding 44 doctoral students across Sweden, at each of the foundation’s 22 target institutions. The initiative amounts to a total of SEK 173 million and aims to strengthen collaboration between academia and society.

Collaboration as a Key Component

The Jubilee Doctoral Students initiative is designed to promote collaboration between academia and industry, which is at the core of the Knowledge Foundation’s mission. The doctoral projects will be carried out in partnership with external stakeholders from industry and other organisations. By combining research and practice, the doctoral students will not only be prepared for an academic career but also for roles in industry and wider society.

The initiative has multiple objectives:

  • Enhancing access to research-trained expertise. Doctoral students will be trained in an interdisciplinary environment that fosters all forms of collaboration.
  • Strengthening collaboration skills. Through joint activities and workshops focused on collaboration, doctoral students and supervisors will gain broader perspectives within an interdisciplinary community.
  • Ensuring long-term impact. A key long-term goal is for doctoral students to build strong networks that extend beyond their doctoral studies and benefit them throughout their careers.

Joint Networking Activities

All the doctoral students and their supervisors are part of the Knowledge Foundation’s collaboration network. The purpose of this network is to create a cohesive yet thematically diverse group through seminars and workshops, fostering advanced collaboration skills. A long-term objective is for the doctoral students to establish lasting professional networks that continue beyond their doctoral studies.

Upcoming network meeting, 5–6 November

The first joint network meeting with all doctoral students and their supervisors is scheduled for 5–6 November 2025 in Stockholm. Detailed information will be sent out by email shortly.

Time: 5–6 November 2025. Lunch-to-lunch format, with a joint dinner on day one.
Venue: Scandic Anglais, Humlegårdsgatan 23, Stockholm
